Supplier Control Governance
An Approved Supplier List is not enough! True
supplier control governance should take the form of a
risk-based assessment of suppliers and service
providers and a routine management evaluation for
those identified as critical or major. Categorization
of suppliers and service providers based on Quality
Agreement status, Audit status, nonconformances and
corrective action status, supply criticality and
business performance indicators to name a few is
integral to preventing disaster.
Quality System Governance
The concept of
Quality System Governance
can be applied to all areas of the quality system.
However, tools must be in place that communicate the
governance structure and facilitate the capture of
appropriate data ensuring management has the
information needed to monitor effectiveness of the
quality system and act; providing resources,
requesting changes and enhancements and make good
decisions regarding business strategy and
goals.
